For those computer users who remember using a computer back in the days of MS-DOS (Microsoft Disk Operating System) there were problems that could be rectified or easily identified by using what was known at the time as ‘Scandisk’. This nimble little program was able to identify bad sectors on a hard drive and then offer the user the opportunity to move them to a quarantined area where they could not affect any damage. Our data recovery Elmbridge engineers remember this process well but now it has been superseded by a new way of identifying problems within the operating system on your computer – a method that although designed to prevent errors from spreading, can actually cause problems of its own.

Our data recovery Elmbridge engineers advise against making any changes to your hard drive simply on the say-so of the operating system. The reason for this is a simple one; what the operating system may identify as a problem may not be as such and the result may be the sudden inability to access any of the data on the drive because the operating system has refused.

if you are fortunate enough to be presented with a dialogue box on your screen telling you that there is an issue with your hard drive or other storage device we recommend powering down and calling our data recovery Elmbridge and Surrey engineers on 0117 3321137 to find out how we can help you recover your data and overcome the problem.

My operating system has locked me out of my hard drive

As we have already indicated if this something that has happened to you the best course of action is to power down the machine and seek help. From experience our data recovery Elmbridge engineers know that by reformatting the drive in question on the say-so of the operating system, all of your data will become lost permanently so it is best to seek advice and help from a premier data recovery company.

Has your operating system rendered your hard drive useless? Are you unable to access your data? If so call our data recovery Elmbridge team today on 0117 3321137 and a member of our technical team will talk you through your options, including providing you with an initial diagnosis of the problem and a no obligation quote. (The quote may have an additional charge levied if the drive has sustained mechanical damage). If you are happy that we can recover your data then we ask that you send the drive to us at our data recovery centre. You can use Royal Mail, courier or personally deliver it if you are in the locale. All we need is the affected disk as we use that to make an image of the data that needs to be recovered.

Once we have taken possession of your hard drive our data recovery Elmbridge team will make a firm diagnosis of the problem and respond to you via email that also contains a list of all the data that can be recovered successfully from the faulty drive. (If said data is larger than 30Gbs in volume we engineers will discuss with you purchasing an external storage device on which it can be recovered). If you are happy and wish to continue we ask that you make payment to us by BACS or credit/debit card (company or private accepted) and we will recover your data to its new medium upon receipt of payment. The data is then returned to you via next day courier (the cost of which is already included in your no obligation quote). To find out more about how we can recover your data and the ways in which we have available to do so contact our data recovery team today on 0117 3321137 – telephone lines are open Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm as is our data recovery centre – we are closed Christmas and Easter.
